Putting it all together:
A Child Called "It" Cereal Box Book Report

Cereal Box Book Report
For our final project, I designed a cereal box book report project for Gabby. This was a creative way for her to display some knowledge of the book and the concepts that we worked with during our sessions together. Each side of the box represented a different element of the book:
-
Front - Setting
-
Side - Characters
-
Side - Summary
-
Back - Courageous Character
-
Inside - Theme

The project was chosen as a play off of the main character, David, never getting to eat cereal in the morning for breakfast as part of his abuse. It was a creative way for Gabby to put her ideas into a tangible object.

Results
Gabby did really well with her project! It was worth 100 points and I scored her an 88. She did really well with providing the basic concepts, and meeting the general requirements and expectations. The reason that she was docked some points was because some areas of her project were vague and it was unclear if she had a full understanding of the concept.
-
-2 Points: Inside the box
-
The object inside the box was a boy and some cereal. This represented the plot well, but it was more literal rather than representing the theme within the book.
-
-
-2 Points: character side
-
Each main character was listed with a good, lengthy description, however, some detials were inacurate such as listing the protagionist/antagonist, and some characterization
-
-
-8 Points: front of the box
-
While the front of the box did have a title and a picture, and the color represented the tone, there was a lack of detail and representation of the setting
-
Presentation
We made notecard to prompt her speech while presenting and practiced together. I think that she was a little nervous because she skipped over some important details. She maintained good eye contact and a loud, direct voice for the entire presentation, though.
